摘要：Se realiza un estudio cronológico de los sistemas modernos de telecomunicación por cable submarino instalados en Canarias, con especial énfasis en la historia más reciente, centrando el análisis en la etapa de liberalización del mercado de las telecomunicaciones en España. Se analiza cómo la evolución tecnológica, el papel jugado por el regulador y los operadores, y la posición geoestratégica de Canarias en el Atlántico, han configurado la actual estructura de cables submarinos tendidos en sus aguas.
其他摘要：A chronological study regarding the modern submarine cable telecommunication systems installed in the Canaries is made, specially emphasizing the most recent history, and focusing the analysis on the period of liberalization of the telecommunications market in Spain. It is analyzed how technological evolution, the role played by the regulator and operators, and the geostrategic position of the Canaries in the Atlantic, have configured the current submarine cables structure laid under its waters.
