摘要：El Rosario es una unidad habitacional construida a principio de la década de los años setenta del siglo pasado. Fue, durante mucho tiempo, la más grande de América Latina, y la producción institucional de vivienda social más emblemática. El plan maestro establecido era que sus siete sectores deberían de funcionar como unidades independientes, sin descuidar su integración al tejido urbano de la ciudad; para ello contaba con equipamiento administrativo, comercial, educativo, de salud, recrativo y cultural, así como con diferentes tipos de vivienda: unifamiliar, dúplex y multifamiliares. Sin embargo, a lo largo de sus cuarenta años, los elementos integradores del proyecto no funcionaron como lo planeado, y han sufrido importantes cambios por la alteración y adaptación de los espacios públicos. Problemas de diseño, transformaciones en la estructura familiar y otros aspectos socioculturales, fueron los causantes de que el funcionamiento decayera y se degradara en poco tiempo. El presente libro hace una valoración, mediante métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos, de las condiciones de habitabilidad de las viviendas en la Unidad Habitacional “El Rosario”, conjunto urbano cuya característica principal fue el énfasis en los espacios abiertos dentro de una gran gama de prototipos de vivienda.
其他摘要：El Rosario is a housing unit built in the early seventies of the last century, it was for a long time the largest in Latin America, and the most emblematic social housing institutional production. The master plan was that its seven sectors (sections) they should function as independent units, without neglecting their integration into the urban feel in the city; to do that, it needed administrative staff, commercial, educational, health, recreational and cultural equipment, as well as different types of housing: single-family, duplex and multi-family. However, throughout its forty years, the integrating elements of the project did not work as planned and have undergone major changes due to the alteration and adaptation of public spaces. Flaws with the design, transformations of the family structure among other socio-cultural aspects were the cause of the functioning to decline and deteriorate in a short time. This book makes an assessment using qualitative and quantitative methods of the habitability housing conditions at the Housing Unit “El Rosario”, an urban complex which characteristic was the emphasis on open spaces among a wide range of housing prototypes.
