摘要:This article makes a conceptual review of the play in childhood and discusses its function in toy libraries located in areas of high social marginalization. The play has been associated with childhood: children spend a lot of time in this activity and are protagonists there, and represents a place in which they simultaneously maintain two spaces of interaction, one real and other fictional, where they are enabled to transform or adapt reality to their purposes in relation to others. Providing a place, time, objects, companions and facilitators of play activity contributes to create alternative spaces for children in vulnerable situations to articulate dimensions of health, rights and coexistence.
