摘要：The purpose of this study was to compare and to determine the relationship between biomechanical parameters of take off in successful and unsuccessful volleyball back row spikes. Seventy three correct back row spikes performed by seven elite young volleyball players were investigated in this research. Two dimensional video recordings were done during all performances and the desired kinematic parameters were computed. The results demonstrate significant differences in skill score, horizontal velocity of ball, and angle of take off between successfull and unsuccessfull performances while, differences between support time, resultant velocity at take off and height of jump were not significant between successfull and unsuccessfull spikes. The correlation anlysis also show a relationship between heigth of jump and both velocity and angle of take off. Therefore, it is suggested that the ratio of the horizontal and vertical take-off speeds to be considered for successful back row spikes.
