摘要:Outcome expectancy is a central construct in social-cognitive model. The purpose of the current study was to examine the psychometric properties of the 3-factor "Multidimensional Outcome Expectations for Exercise Scale" in a sample of older adults. The sample of the study was 264 adults from Tehran with mean age 66.77 years that was selected through random sampling. Exploratory and Confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient were used to examine hypothesized of the 3-factor model. Analyses supported the 3-factor structure of the "Multidimensional Outcome Expectations for Exercise Scale" reflecting physical, social and self-evaluative outcome expectations, with a 15-item model providing the best fit.Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient showed internal reliability of the questioner. Thus, the 15-item version of the "Multidimensional Outcome Expectations for Exercise Scale" appears to be a reliable and valid measure of outcome expectations for exercise in the sample of Tehranin older adults.
