摘要：Artikulu honetan Gesalazko herrien izenak eta ibarraren izena bera aztertzen ditugu, etimologiaren aldetik. Honekin batean, haraneko herrixka despopulatu seguru edo ustezkoen izenak ere azaltzen saiatzen gara. Herri hustu horiek identifikatzeko, agirietako datuak eta toponimoen egitura eta bukaera hartu ditugu aintzat. Laburbilduz, ikertutako izen gehienen jatorria zein den argitu dugula erran dezakegu, baina oraindik ere badela osoki iluna den toponimoren bat eta hein batez baizik ezin azaldu izan ditugun beste bakan zenbait.
其他摘要：In this article we look into the etymological explanation of the names of villages in Gesalatz Valley as well as of the valley’s name itself. We moreover attempt to provide an etymological explanation of the names of the suspected and certain uninhabited villages of the valley. In order to identify the potential empty towns documentary data as well as the structure and endings of their names have been taken into account. In brief terms we may claim to have clarified the source of most of the names analyzed, even though a few obscure toponyms remain in addition to some others which we only managed to explain partially
