摘要：El ilustrado autor David Harvey explica en su libro Diecisiete contradicciones y el fin del capitalismo, argumentaciones evi-denciadas como problemáticas del capitalismo durante las crisis económicas y sociales. La tesis fundamental que esta gran obra revela es la crisis del capitalismo como sistema social a través del tiempo y el análisis de su motor económico, el capital. Expone el concepto de contradicción dialécticamente para referirse al capital, definiéndola como dos fuerzas opuestas presentes al mismo tiempo en un acontecimiento determinado. En este artículo, reflexionamos sobre las ideas del geógrafo y teórico social marxista en esta obra, aplicadas al contexto social de Puerto Rico. Particularmente, traeremos algunas discusiones en torno a la salud, considerando el estado de situación político colonial con los Estados Unidos. Algunos pensamientos finales serán compartidos con miras a construir un humanismo revolucionario que ponga la esperanza en los movimientos sociales para el rescate de los derechos humanos, incluido la salud y desarrolle acciones dirigidas a transformar la actual depredación humana.
其他摘要：The illustrated author David Harvey explains in his book “Seventeen contradictions and the end of capitalism”, arguments evidenced as problems of capitalism during economic and social crises. The fundamental thesis that this great work reveals is the crisis of capitalism as a social system through time and the analysis of its economic engine, the capital. He exposes the concept of contradiction dialectically to refer to the capital, defining it as two opposing forces present at the same time in a given event. In this article, we reflect on the ideas of the Marxist geographer and social theorist, applied to the social context of Puerto Rico. We will point out some discussions around health, considering the state of colonial political situation with the United States. Some final thoughts will be shared with the idea to building a revolutionary humanism that places hope in social movements for the rescue of human rights, such as health, and develops actions aimed to transform the current human predation.
