摘要:This research aims to analyze the education of blacks in the post-abolition period. Especially, approaching how the insertion of black children happened in Brazilian public schools. To perform this research, a qualitative approach was used, based on bibliographic research. Since the formation of Brazil, which dates from the colonial period, Brazilian population has a high number of black individuals, many were brought from Africa to work in the country as slaves. In Brazilian territory, the slavery regime occurred in different regions, for example in the city of Pelotas. The education of black children in Brazil and in the Pelotense municipality was performed mainly in order to train workers for the labor market, many suffered various types of violence, including physical assaults. However, even with such adversities, black population never stopped fighting for their rights, among them the education.
