摘要:In recent years, a number of international and national organizations have started to optimize their coach development programs to align with current trends and specific circumstances. In Japan, the Japan Sport Council (JSC) has acknowledged the importance of developing “intelligent” athletes with enhanced competency to self-regulate their analyses, reflections, and decision-making in order to improve their performance. The aim of the present study was to explore the concept of performance behaviour, as developed by TeamNL (NOC ∗ NSF, Olympic Committee of the Netherlands), integrating the development of athletes’ cognitive readiness as part of coaching in high performance sport, as a basis for the development of “intelligent” athletes and subsequently creating a possible legacy to Tokyo 2020 in the domain of coaching.
