摘要:The aim of this study is to adapt the problem-solving strategies scale developed by Çalışkan (2007) targeting university students taking a physics course to high school students and to identify the scale’s validity and reliability. The participants were 10th graders (n=223, 50,7%) and 11th graders (n=217, 49,3%) attending three different schools in Trabzon. The total number of participants was 440 students. In order to establish construct validity, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were performed. The exploratory factor analysis showed that the scale consisted of 25 items and four factors. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the scale had a good level of consistency with four factors. It was further found that the corrected item-total correlation of the scale ranged between 0.245 and 0.498 and that differences between the means of the low-high groups of 27% were statistically significant. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient for the general scale was found to be 0.855. All these findings suggest that the scale is valid and reliable and also eligible to be used in related studies.
