摘要：Debates on the status of Turkish women generally focus on private spheres, but constraints and inequality in using urban outdoor spaces are generally neglected. The aim of this study is to understand how women use open public spaces in Turkey.’ To this end, gender differences in spatial and activity patterns were considered and accepted as a reflection of inequality and negative attitude towards women. Observation and behavior mappings were used to determine the gender attributes of space, such as whether men and women have equal control on behavior settings and whether both genders show any differences in their activities.
