摘要:The curriculum, textbook and teacher constitute the main triad that help students understand a course. In our country, program changes are made frequently and textbooks are reshaped accordingly. Teachers, on the other hand, try to fulfill their duties in the education system under the leadership of the constantly changing programs and textbooks with the help of the teaching style they have mastered and the professional experience they have acquired. Social Studies course is taught in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grades and is given by social studies teachers in 5th, 6th and 7th grades?. Citizenship education distributed within the units aims to raise individuals who are beneficial to society. In our study, the current status of the 2018 Social Studies Curriculum in terms of citizenship was evaluated and the opinions of the social studies teachers were taken. In addition, it was examined whether there is a relationship between the demographic knowledge of the teachers and the results of the study. Interview technique; one of the qualitative research methods, was used to reach the research findings. The case study was used to analyze the findings. The main purpose of the research is to determine the adequacy of the Social Studies Curriculum in terms of citizenship education. The study was conducted in Samsun in December 2019 and 18 teachers were included in the study. In the study, 5 teachers did not criticize the curriculum as they found it sufficient. The views of 13 teachers who found the program incomplete were divided into 3 thought groups in terms of the inadequacies they expressed. The most expressed problem among these was stated as the lack of sufficient applied activities of the program according to the opinions of 8 participants.
