  • 摘要:This study aims to document the voices of alumni of teachers professional education program (PPG) in Riau University on the effectiveness of the PPG program in preparing prospective professional English teachers. The effectiveness was assessed in terms of four variables: curriculum, facilities, services, and impact of the program. All alumni of the 2018 subsidized PPG program at the University were selected as the sample of this survey study (15 people). Data was collected through Google form-based survey which was adopted from the PPG program evaluation questionnaire from the Ministry of Education. This study found that from the curriculum aspect, 84.6% of alumni said that the PPG curriculum content was in accordance with the needs of preservice English teachers. In terms of learning facilities, only 23.1% answered that they were satisfied with PPG facilities. From the aspect of services to students, only 42.6% said they were satisfied. From the aspect of the impact of the program, 69.2% of participants admitted that PPG had a significant impact on the development of their teaching profession. The greatest impact is on the aspect of both professional and pedagogical competencies. This study implies that there are several aspects that need to be the attention of PPG organizers for the improvement of PPG in the future, including the renewal of currculum contents and provision of sufficient learning infrastructure.
  • 其他摘要:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendokumentasikan penilaian mahasiswa PPG Bahasa Inggris FKIP Universitas Riau tentang efektivitas program PPG dalam mempersiapkan calon guru Bahasa Inggris yang profesional. Efektivitas PPG dievaluasi pada empat variabel: kurikulum, fasilitas, pelayanan, dan dampak program PPG. Semua alumni program PPG Bersubsidi angkatan 2018 di Universitas dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian survey ini (15 orang). Data dikumpulkan melalui survey berbasis Google form yang diadopsi dari angket evaluasi program PPG dari Kementerian Pendidikan Dikti. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dari aspek kurikulum, 84,6% alumni mengatakan bahwa konten kurikulum PPG sesuai dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa calon guru. Dari sisi fasilitas perkuliahan, hanya 23,1% yang menjawab puas dengan fasilitas PPG. Dari aspek layanan penyelenggara, hanya 42,6% yang mengaku puas. Dari aspek dampak program, 69,2% partisipan mengaku bahwa PPG sangat berdampak untuk pengembangan profesi keguruan mereka. Dampak paling besar adalah pada aspek kompetensi profesional dan pedagogik. Implikasi dari temuan penelitian ini adalah bahwa ada beberapa aspek yang perlu menjadi perhatian penyelenggara PPG untuk perbaikan PPG di masa datang, seperti pembaharuan konten kurikulum dan penyediaan infrastruktur yang cukup.
