摘要：The breeding of Angora goats in Ankara, the area with the most suitable geographical conditions in Anatolia, meant that the Ottoman Empire was unrivaled for around 500 years in the breeding of these animals. However, afer Angora goats had been taken out of the country and successfully raised in South Africa and America, the Ottoman Empire began to lose its superior position. In this study, an extract from the story about the disappearance of Angora goats, the Austrian government’s request to the Ottoman government in April 1908 to purchase Angora goats to breed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the subsequent developments of the request are investigated. The study is also significant because it highlights the importance of Angora goats and the mohair trade for the Ottoman Empire, and the reactions of both mohair merchants and members of the Ottoman parliament.
其他摘要：Osmanlı Devleti, yetişmesi için en uygun coğrafi şartları Anadolu’da, Ankara ve çevresinde bulan Ankara (tifik) keçisi yetiştiriciliğinde yaklaşık 500 yıl rakipsiz konumda bulunmuştur. Ancak Ankara keçilerinin çeşitli yollarla ülke dışına çıkarılarak Güney Afrika ve Amerika’da da yüksek verimle yetiştirilmeleri ile bu konumunu giderek kaybetmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Ankara keçilerinin yitiriliş öyküsünden bir kesit olarak Nisan 1908’de Avusturya hükûmetinin, Osmanlı hükûmetinden Bosna ve Hersek’te yetiştirilmek üzere Ankara keçisi satın almayı talep etmesi ve bunun yol açtığı gelişmeler ele alınmaktadır. Çalışma, Avusturya hükûmetinin söz konusu talebine ve bu talebe Osmanlı hükûmetinin verdiği karşılığa ışık tutarken, bu vesile ile Ankara keçilerinin dolayısıyla tifik ticaretinin Osmanlı Devleti için önemine ve tifik tüccarının tepkileri ile Osmanlı Mebusan ve Ayan meclislerinde bu hususta dile getirilen düşüncelere dikkat çekmesi bakımından önem arz etmektedir.
