摘要:The paper analyses point, spatially georeferenced data from the pan-Eu-ropean project Lucas (Land Use/Cover Area frame Statistical survey) in Slovakia in order to determine their availability and accuracy in the observation of land cover. It analyses the spatial parameters of input and output data of field observation in the context of recording the relevant class of land cover. The main approach of the Lucas project is the collection of spatial data on land cover/land use "in situ", so from a technical point of view, the paper analyses the main criteria for collecting of such data. These include a standardized procedure for defining and observing a reference point/site on a designated observation network. The creation of a network of obser-vations, which is necessary in terms of representativeness of the data set and valida-tion of field observations, is briefly characterized. Based on the analysis of deviations from the reference value (theoretical point Lucas), the positional accuracy was eval-uated for a) transformation of point coordinates in the creation of national ground documents b) availability of points for explorers. The analysed results of availability were summarized based on the surveyors' comments on the observed obstacles.
