摘要：The article examines the peculiarities of the functioning of the archetype of the world tree in the poetic heritage of Hryhorii Chubai. The authors of the article characterize the stylistic features of the artist’s poetry in the relationship with Ukrainian and world literature, as well as in the context of the writer’s biography. They emphasize such characteristic features of poetic creativity of personality as: through imagery, artistic aesthetic speech, active use of tropes and figures, introduction of author’s neologisms, the presence of specifically sensory vocabulary for expressiveness of the text and facilitate its perception. An analysis of Hryhorii Chubai’s creative legacy has made it possible to distinguish two figurative and stylistic keys: the artist’s early lyricism, which was open, sincere, confessional, and the late one, formed under the influence of persecution, ban on publishing and being in alternative cultural discourse. In late lyric poetry the poet resorted to the language of symbols, allusions, abstract images, introduces into his poetry elements of journalism, newspaper vocabulary or stationery stamps.
