摘要:The article considers the issue of integrated education. The practice of training students at universities of Ukraine shows that the use of traditional forms and methods of training does not provide sufficient knowledge level of the foreign language for graduates. Therefore, it is necessary to seek new approaches to the study of a foreign language. That is why the problem of implementing the integration of higher education is so important and relevant. It is dictated by new social requirements to be met by universities. The article reveals the need for an integrated approach to the study of a foreign language at higher school, which is a powerful and efficient tool for systematization of knowledge, intensive development of cognitive activity and individual abilities of students. The authors draw attention to the fact that the idea of knowledge integration has interested scientists from ancient times. This idea was interesting to John Amos Comenius, John Locke, Pestalozzi. The article involves a brief analysis of recent research and publications devoted to this problem. It is emphasized that a foreign language as a school subject is integrative in nature and is interdisciplinary in content, so it opens up wide possibilities for the development of integrated courses, especially at universities. The authors draw attention to the fact that geography is an integral part of learning a foreign language, because language cannot be studied in isolation from culture knowledge, history, geography, traditions of native speakers. The multi-sensory approach is suggested to be used when learning a foreign language, which allows to involve all channels of perception: hearing, sight, smell, touch. Attention is drawn to the connection of a foreign language to computer science, because in modern society informatization is not only the introduction of ICT in classes, but also the expansion of the ability to access the essence and content of a foreign language. It is emphasized that an integrated approach to the study of a foreign language at higher school is applied not only at the level of ties with other subjects, but also within the discipline. An example of a typical integrated training plan is provided. The article highlights the benefits of adopting an integrated approach to the study of a foreign language at higher school.
