摘要：In the context of today’s globalized market,the success of a translator depends,to a large extent,on a number of skills which make up what is generally described as (inter)cultural competence. The present paper focuses on the complex nature of the translator’s intercultural competence,examining it from various perspectives: theoretical,sociolinguistic,textual and interpersonal. The author relies on both theoretical and research evidence,with the ultimate goal of arriving at conclusions of relevance for the field of translator training.
