摘要:Christian theology as a form of selfunderstanding of the Christian faith has always emerged in specific hermeneutical situations. In this sense, the form and content of theology evolves through its encounter with the various activities of human beings that we can in sum call “culture.” Paul Tillich, the famous theologian of the last century, defines the relation between religion,a central component of which is theology, and culture as follows: “Religion is the substance of culture, culture is the form of religion.” This formulation suggests that religion and culture find themselves in a reciprocal relationship with each other. Throughout its history,Christian theology has tried to provide an answer to the ultimate human questions about the meaning of life and death, the mystery of the existence of all things, including human beings, and other central issues. The act of engaging in theology was made possible by its opening itself up to the permeable boundaries between theology, philosophy, science, literature, the arts, and all other aspects of culture. In fact, the core oftheology is only to be found in such openness to the interpenetration of fields of culture.
