摘要：Who was Josef Mestenhauser,and why should you care? As a young man growing up in Czechozlovakia in the 1940s,“Joe” experienced what many people on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean could not even fathom as real. He saw injustice through his lens as a young law student at Charles University, and fought against that injustice. It led to his imprisionment,and eventual escape from a war-torn country,to a new land,“America”. Coming to the United States in the late 1940s,Joe began his 70 year journey to create the conditions by which students at the University of Minnesota and,eventually all over the world,would begin to broaden their international understanding,and learn to work with each other,not against each other..
