摘要：This article constitutes the culmination in a review of 53 sources by a group of first year master’s degree students in a problems and issues in secondary education course to determine “Standardized Tests: Bellwether of Achievement?” Standardized tests are used for deciding whether or not students are achieving academically in American schools. Is this the right mechanism? Are they fair for all students? Is there a better way? There are pros and cons to standardized testing, and these will be discussed in the paper.
