摘要:Flathead catfish (Pylodictus olivarus) were stocked at 9.8 fish/ha (26.9 kg/ha) in 1997 through 1999 in Canton Lake, a 101-ha reservoir in Fulton Co., Illinois. Five hundred fourteen flathead catfish were recaptured and stomach contents determined. Flathead catfish selected larger (170 mm) gizzard shad over other available forage. Consumption rates of gizzard shad were lower for larger (600 mm) catfish when compared to smaller (400-600 mm) ones. Low predation of centrarchids was observed, while no predation was observed on channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) or largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides).
