摘要:We sampled burbot in seven lakes in the Big Horn/Wind River drainage of Wyoming in 1995 and 1996. We assessed the age frequency distributions, length frequency distributions, growth rates, relative weights, and catch per unit effort of the burbot populations in these lakes and compared them to burbot populations across North America. The habitat in the three natural lakes did not appear to be limiting the growth or reproduction of burbot, but exploitation seemed to be affecting population structure and the abundance of sexually mature fish. Abundance of burbot was low in the four man-made lakes where sediment deposition and water level fluctuations were probably limiting spawning success, survival of young fish, and prey abundance.
