Literacy Volunteers of Rochester's fifth annual Brain Game to be
Daily Record StaffTickets are available for Literacy Volunteers of Rochester's (LVR) fifth annual Brain Game in which teams of Rochester area attorneys and accountants compete for the top prize in trivia and a year's worth of bragging rights.
The fifth annual game begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Riverview Ballroom of the Clarion Riverside Hotel.
Holly Maynard and Evan Dawson from 13 WHAM TV will host the event. They will pose questions drawn from a wide variety of categories, including sports, entertainment, geography, history, politics, Rochester area trivia and more.
This is our fifth Brain Game contest and last year the competition was won by Nixon Peabody, noted Bob Mahar, executive director of Literacy Volunteers of Rochester. Rochester's legal and financial communities produce some of the best trivia specialists around, and competition for bragging rights gets intense.
The legal resource provider Lexis Nexis served as the underwriter for the event.
While the attorneys and accountants puzzle over the answers, guests can follow the action, cheer on their favorite team and offer lifelines to stumped contestants.
Hot hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available.
Tickets to the 2005 Brain Game are $20 each. Tickets are available at the door or by sending a check to Literacy Volunteers of Rochester at 249 Highland Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.
