Teens banished to islands - Simon Roberts and Adrian Guthrie sentenced to isolation on separate uninhabited islands after beating and robbing a pizza delivery man

Adrian Guthrie and Simon Roberts, 17-year-old Tlingit Indians, assaulted a Washington state pizza delivery man last year during a robbery. The beating with a baseball bat left the victim with permanently damaged sight and hearing. A state judge turned the youths over to a Tlingit tribal court in Alaska. Each has been sentenced for a year to 18 months alone on a separate island. They have shelter, supplies, and a promise of someone to check on them from time to time.
