Hurling: Big relief for Cork
NICK PATTISONCORK took a giant step away from the relegation zone last night - as Longford"s fall from grace in Division 1A continued at Pairc Ui Rinn.
Floodlit football obviously suits Michael O Cronin-led Cork and the Rebel County picked up another pricess two points last night.
Things have gone from bad to worse for Longford, who won their first two games against Kerry and Westmeath but have now lost their last three.
Their latest reversal was apparent early on and Denis Connerton"s side hit the break 0-4 to 2-5 behind before Cork wrapped things up after the interval with a free-scoring display.
