..and everyone wants de Boer's pounds 50k BMW
STUART MacDONALDRANGERS star Ronald de Boer has been swamped with pleas from car dealers demanding to know where he bought his new top-of-the-range BMW.
Dutch star de Boer, 33, splashed out pounds 50,000 for the brand new BMW Six Series Coupe - the only one in Britain.
The Dutch master's purchase has sparked a frenzy among car sales executives. One car saleswoman was so eager to find out where he got it, she marched into the Rangers training ground demanding to speak to the midfield maestro.
The blonde had spotted de Boer and his new pride-and-joy at a petrol station and tailed him all the way to the Rangers' training complex, Murray Park, at Milngavie, near Glasgow.
But she was forced to make do with leaving her business card at reception after security staff told her de Boer was unavailable.
Last night, a friend of his said: "Ronald was gutted when his last BMW got nicked and he decided to cheer himself up by getting an even nicer one.
"The waiting list for this model was long and getting it imported takes a while, but he thought it was worth the wait. It's the only one in the country and he has been like a kid with a new toy since he picked up the keys.
"But the attention it attracts has taken him by surprise."
So where did he get the silver BMW Six Series Coupe? It was imported from his native Holland after a year-long wait.
The left-hand-drive car has a 4.5 litre engine, 18-inch alloy wheels, a television and DVD player, and can accelerate from 0-60mph in five seconds. It won't be launched in the UK until March and a BMW spokesman said: "We have a huge waiting list for this model."
