PAIN OF MANDY FATHER
JON HARRISTHE distraught dad of murdered schoolgirl Mandy Hardwick last night described his daughter as "too trusting".
Mandy, 15, was dumped in the street in Harpurhey, Manchester, after being battered and strangled.
Her father Brian Atkinson, 65, said: "She was always full of fun and trusted everyone she met. Sometimes she was too trusting. She was extremely affectionate and she would do anything for anyone."
Mandy disappeared last Wednesday on her way to meet a family friend for a shopping trip.
Detectives yesterday showed a black bomber jacket like the one Mandy was wearing when she was murdered.
The one they showed belongs to a school friend who went shopping with Mandy in the January sales when the two girls bought identical coats.
Det Supt Martin Bottomley hopes it will jog the memories of people who may have seen Mandy before she was killed.
