-- Lake City High graduates Dan Lau and Adam Capaul have been picked to play on an Idaho all-star baseball team that will play against all-star teams from Washington and Oregon on June 19 in Vancouver, Wash.

Lau, a right-handed pitcher/outfielder, was the Inland Empire League's player of the year. Capaul, also a right-handed pitcher, was a first-team all-league selection.

They will be joined on the Idaho team by Lewiston seniors Josh Rogers (shortstop) and Kyle Greene (outfielder).

SOFTBALL

Morgan Thomsen of West Valley High School will receive the Inland Empire Softball Hall of Fame's second scholarship award during induction ceremonies at Friday night's Softball Reunion and Induction Celebration sponsored by the Inland Empire Softball Hall of Fame.

Thomsen, who will receive $1,000, plans to attend Spokane Falls Community College next year.

An All-Border League selection her freshman year, Thomsen was selected as this year's first-team All-Greater Spokane League shortstop. Knee injuries prevented her from playing her sophomore and junior seasons.
