Your Voice: Reader's letter
B HopeI AM in total agreement with the comments made by John Hoodless last week.
The Government continually tell people today to save for their retirement. I, like John, did exactly that while I was an ambulance driver for 28 years.
Like him, my pension is taken in council tax, income tax, dental care, and optical care. Now when I'm most in need of the health service I see it deteriorating.
And I am very bitter that the money I paid into the welfare state is being handed out willy-nilly to everyone in Britain who wants to cash in on a soft touch.
When is it going to be our turn to have a better and bigger slice of the cake that we paid into all our lives?
