REAR VIEW MIRROR: BMW'S bunch of FIVE'S

BMW continues to expand the 5 series range.

There's a new diesel coming, a 3.0 with 'two stage' supercharging wich offers 272bhp and more torque than the outgoing 400 bhp BMW M5! This engine already features in the 330d, 730d and X5 off-roader.

Also new from Bavaria is the 5 series touring car. Featuring 2.5 and 3.0 versions of the charismatic straight six, the tourer fills a major gap left unplugged by the departure of the old model.

It's got more load capacity, is 50kgs lighter then the old car and gets six speed gearboxes. Out this spring.
