BABY JOY FOR TV STAR SALLY

TV FUNNY girl Sally Phillips and her Bible teacher husband Andrew Bermejo are expecting their first child.

The star of Smack The Pony, who is now working on the new Bridget Jones movie, is absolutely ecstatic. She said yesterday: "I found out I was pregnant during filming my current BBC series Rescue Me, when I suddenly became allergic to cigarettes."

A friend of the couple said: "Sally and Andrew wanted to keep it a secret, but she is absolutely thrilled. She's wanted a family and they are both thrilled that it happened so quickly."

The pair met two years on an Alpha course, designed to help people find out about Christianity. Andrew, 39, a mangement consultant was leading the course. Sally, 33, said: "I couldn't believe it. It was Valentine's night and I was out having a fantastic time. That's never happened to me before."

Andrew proposed several months later and Sally accepted immediately. They married in Kensington, West London, last January. Since Christmas Sally has been filming the Bridget Jones sequel, The Edge of Reason with Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant.

The actress, who lives in Belsize Park, London, is expected to reduce her workload as her pregnancy develops.
