Letter: What price meat?

HAVING seen the disturbing and cruel footage of farm workers stuffing live birds into sacks for killing in Asia, I feel man will never learn.

Of course disease will prevail when sentient creatures of another species are farmed for food and finance in totally unnatural conditions.

Why does everyone sound surprised? Man is totally responsible for this situation.

Similar to the BSE and Foot and Mouth outbreaks, the people who farm animals and ultimately consume them have only themselves to blame.

Unfortunately, the millions of birds suffering for man's greed are the victims in this situation.

No one has to eat the flesh of another species to survive.

This outbreak of Avian influenza is just further proof that the only compassionate lifestyle is a vegan one, for human animals, non- human animals and for the planet.
