SWANSEA laid down their Konica/Minolta Cup challenge with a 13- try demolition of little Ynysddu to move into the Fifth Round.

The Premier Division giants were far too strong for the Division Four (East) outfit and appear well equipped to go a long way in the competition.

They had star performances in skipper Matthew Brayley and fullback Gareth Swales, who both crossed for a hat-trick of tries.

The village hosts were swept aside after posing an early threat that almost produced a score for left-wing Iestyn Smith.

That proved to be their solitary chance of points as the visitors moved smoothly into top gear to storm to a stunning win.

The writing was on the wall for the home-side as Swansea launched themselves into attacking mode and the tries flowed.

Swansea were 31 points ahead at the halfway stage after lively hooker Richard Hibbard crossed for a brace of first half tries as the centre pairing of Brayley and Paul Mackey posed a constant threat to an out-gunned home defence.

Scrum half Darren Pittard was a real menace and marked a fine display by crossing twice.

Swansea's other tries came from back-row duo Gavin Vaughan-Evans and Richard Francis, while replacement David Blyth grabbed another.

The Whites earned a fifth round home tie against another village side - Nantyffyllon being given the task of taking them on at St Helens.
