Who star thought of suicide
ALLISON MARTINROCK legend Pete Townshend thought about killing himself over allegations that he had downloaded child porn.
"If I had had a gun, I would have shot myself," the Who star said. "And if I had shot myself, it would have been f*****g awful as it would have confirmed what everybody thought."
Townshend, 57, was arrested in January after it was revealed his name was passed to Scotland Yard by the FBI as part of Operation Ore, an international investigation in to child porn websites.
He admitted using his credit card to access a child porn site. He was cautioned by police and his name will stay on the sex offenders' list for at least five years.
"I know that I caused the most incredible chaos by one single careless act - for my ex-wife, for my son who's only 13, for his school friends, my girlfriend, all of whom had to make a snap decision to wing behind me. They all did.
Townshend insists he only logged on to the website for research. "I'm not sexually attracted to children," he said.
