MANHATTAN --- Kansas State University is ready to help when it comes to holiday gift ideas.

The KSU Meat Lab is now accepting orders for holiday smoked hams and turkeys and a variety of lunch meats and sausage. Orders should be placed by Monday; they can be picked up from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, and Wednesday, Dec. 22. Place orders at the lab, 166 Weber Hall, by calling (785) 532-6131 or by fax to 532-7059. The meat lab also is offering gift certificates.

The Call Hall Dairy Bar is offering K-State sausage and cheese gift boxes.

The K-State Student Union has several holiday specials and items available. The Union Bookstore's special holiday shop will be available in the Union Courtyard weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, through Friday, Dec. 17. Available are a variety of gifts, including special "Purple Santas," books and other holiday items.

The bookstore's popular Angel Tree is available through Dec. 18. Shoppers may choose an angel with a child's name on it from the tree, then receive 25 percent off children's books purchased at the bookstore to give to the selected child. The bookstore will wrap the books and give them to the Flint Hills Breadbasket for distribution.

The union recreation area offers several gift ideas. Gifts, such as desk plates, signs and awards, can be individually designed and personalized with the recreation area's engraving and metal photo services. Gift certificates also are available.

The information counter at the union offers a variety of photo gifts.

Treasured pictures can be used for personalized gifts such as photo mouse pads, calendars, ornaments, T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps and giant posters.

Orders can be placed at the information counter's photo display.

Wanna-be Santas can dress for the part with help of the Union Program Council, which is offering Santa suit rentals from Dec. 1- 22. For more information call 532-6571 or drop by the UPC office on the third floor of the union.

Holiday baked goods and sweets are available for order from the union, including Swedish braids and tea rings, K-State crown rolls, petite almond batons, sandies, krisp kringles and a variety of holiday cookies. Meat, cheese, vegetable and fruit trays, as well as side dishes, cheese balls snacks and hors d'oeuvres also are available. Orders can be placed by calling 532-6068.

Celebrate the season at the union's annual Holiday Buffet, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Bluemont Buffet on the second floor. The all-you-can-eat menu will include a variety of holiday treats, including raspberry tuxedo cheesecake, black forest cake, Swedish tea rings and K-State crown rolls. The cost is $6.50 per person. Reservations are requested by calling 532-6580.
