NIH Will Dedicate Louis Stokes Laboratories
Marc SternReporters are invited to cover the dedication of the Louis Stokes Laboratories, a new six-story building near the center of the National Institutes of Health main campus in Bethesda, Md. The dedication ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2001, at the new building, which will house advanced scientific projects to be conducted by at least seven of NIH's 19 Institutes.
The Hon. Louis Stokes, who represented his Ohio District in the U.S. House of Representatives for 30 years, was enthusiastic and determined in supporting biomedical research, and in seeking to eliminate health disparities in the nation's minority, poor, underserved, and disadvantaged communities.
