ORWH, NIEHS and ASCB to Sponsor a Workshop on Advancing Women's Contributions to Science
Ellyn PollackBETHESDA, MD �� AXXS 99 is a workshop to explore the role of professional societies in advancing women's contributions to science. Participants will develop action items that societies may consider for their membership, contribute to an annotated bibliography of career resources that will be made available on the Internet, and exchange information about the strengths and weaknesses of existing and planned society programs.
The workshop will address mentoring and networking, career development for mid- and senior-level women scientists, representation of women in scientific societies, sharing model systems that work, and outreach and collaboration between societies and other organizations.
