Streaming media caching provider iBEAM Broadcasting Corp. is adding some cable and technical muscle to its operation.

Continuing the intertwining trend between television and Internet, USA Networks Inc. president/CEO Barry Baker has been named to iBEAM's board of directors. The 25-year broadcasting industry veteran will serve as an advisor for the company in broadcast communications and technology.

iBEAM also selected three notable media industry faces to its technical advisory board. They include Tony Werner, VP-engineering and technical operations and CTO of AT&T Broadband and Internet Services; Ron Perth, president of Jim Henson Television Group Worldwide; and Jon Kannegaard, SVP of Sun Microsystems Laboratories.

They will serve as advisors on engineering, broadcast and Internet technology respectively.
