AT&T BIS Trolls for Interactive Services - AT&T Broadband and Internet Services plans to offer interactive television services - Company Business and Marketing - Brief Article
Karen BrownAdd AT&T Broadband and Internet Services to the list of MSOs preparing to jump into interactive TV.
Tony Werner, AT&T BIS EVP-engineering and technical operations, told members if the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Women in Cable and Telecommunications earlier this month that the MSO's first commercial interactive TV offering is scheduled for an October rollout. AT&T BIS is finishing up work on the system's software stack and is now looking to pick interactive service providers.
AT&T BIS will be looking for services that are OpenCable compliant and are userfriendly enough to support retail sales, Werner said. He later added the strategy would be to go with several providers, rather than risk being hamstrung by a single provider in an ironclad contract.
