Arnie dad Nazi past
DAVID GARDNER in Los AngelesNEW details of his father's Nazi past returned last night to haunt Arnold Schwarzenegger's bid to become Governor of California.
Documents show the actor's disciplinarian dad was a member of Adolf Hitler's feared Storm-troopers and had a deeper involvement in the Nazi regime than previously suspected.
Gustav Schwarzenegger, who died in 1972, volunteered in 1939, six months after the regiment destroyed Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues and hauled thousands of Jews off to death camps.
A spokesman for Arnold Schwarzenegger said: "He's been asking about his father's activities in the German army for years, and it's clear Arnold's views are completely opposite to those of his father."
