THE Darling plan for huge cuts in our rail services is madness.

Our road system cannot cope at the moment - what will it be like when thousands more have to turn to the car because their trains have disappeared?

We are heading for more traffic congestion, more pollution and yet another complete reversal of Government policy. The attitude of Tony Blair's Cabinet seems to be: "If at first you don't succeed, give up."
