Give yourself up, mother tells stab woman's boyfriend
GEORGIA WILLIAMSTHE MOTHER of a man wanted in connection with a frenzied knife attack on his pregnant girlfriend begged him to give himself up when he called her on the phone.
Unemployed Adrian Hinkson, 20, now on the run and described as extremely dangerous, is wanted for questioning about Monday's attack in Balcombe Street, Marylebone, in which 18-year-old Anique Bazil suffered seven stab wounds - one of them narrowly missing her jugular vein.
As police released a picture of Hinkson today, his mother Lorrymell Daw, 50, from Canning Town, said she had spoken to her son on the phone and pleaded with him to give himself up.
Surgeons fought for several hours to save nine-months-pregnant Miss Bazil and delivered the couple's unborn baby by emergency Caesarean section. She had ended the relationship with Hinkson before the attack.
Both mother and baby are under police guard in hospital where their condition is described as stable. Hinkson, who it is alleged initially tried to stop her calling an ambulance, is believed to be in hiding in either the Paddington or Forest Gate areas. Police have warned the public not to approach him.
Dc Douglas Witney said: "Anyone who could stab a nine-months- pregnant woman is a danger to the public." Hinkson is 5ft 8ins and was last seen wearing a burgundy DKNY logo top, black shell-suit trousers and grey and black Nike trainers.
Dc Robin Nelson, leading the investigation, said: "We have genuine concerns for the safety and wellbeing of all the parties involved and would strongly urge this man to come forward immediately." Anyone with information can call 020 7321 8517.
