Motorcycling: Boost for Bostrom
JOHN BROWNFORMER Superbike World Championship front-runner Ben Bostrom has qualified in pole position for today's Daytona 200 in Florida.
The Californian, who has raced a Ducati in WSBK for the last three years, has switched to Honda for a full season of racing in the States.
"I have come back to try and and the AMA Superbike title and it's a great start to get the bonus point for setting pole," he said after snatching the number-one spot on the grid by just 0.175 seconds from fellow Honda rider Kurtis Roberts.
Roberts moved up to second spot by a fraction of second when Australian Mat Mladin dropped back to third place after crashing his Suzuki at the chicane.
Aaron Yates, riding for Yoshimura Suzuki, completes the front row of the starting grid.
