SINGERS, soap stars and sports champions celebrated this year's launch of the BT Emma Awards for ethnically diverse talent in the media.

Among those at the Tate Modern reception were middleweight boxer Lloyd Honeyghan, singer Patti Boulaye and Family Affairs actress Ebony Thomas, who said: "Recognition of everyone's talents is extremely important."

Finalists include Craig David, Denise Lewis and Lennox Lewis. The awards will take place on 26 April.
