P WilsonTHERE is a lot of fuss about US aircraft landing in Ireland in planes which resemble Aer Lingus fleet colours.
Yes, this is wrong - but to my mind it is totally missing the point.
It doesn't matter what lengths America goes to to disguise its troop movements - no US troop or weapons carrying planes should be landing here because we are neutral.
Neutral means we take no side or give any aid to combatants in any conflict.
As far as I can see Bertie Ahern's view of neutrality is different - and the only way the disparity could be addressed would be by letting Iraqi jets land in Shannon for refuelling etc on their way to the US.
Think about it Bertie - it's only fair.
