Your Say: Plea for parity
P Lyons WexfordI WAS shocked to read in the Irish Sunday Mirror that the American Department of Education had banned the Catholic religious scene of Jesus in a manger in New York schools.
How can they justify Jewish and Islamic symbols being displayed in schools but ban the Catholic symbols?
It is blatant discrimination.
School is one of the places where children learn about their religion.
Making Catholic children feel like outsiders because of their religion is just not acceptable.
