JUST WIZARD STUDIES IDEA
SCOTT DOUGLASA YOUNG financial wizard plans to help pay his way through university...by selling a signed first edition of a Harry Potter novel.
Matthew Lawson, 13, hopes his mint- condition pounds 10.99 hardback copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will fetch more than pounds 2,000 at auction.
Matthew already had a paperback copy of the book, so the signed edition, a 10th birthday present from his aunt, sat unread at the back of a cupboard in his Fife home.
Now auction house bosses hope the hype about the new movie of the book will send the price soaring and expect bids from all over the world.
Matthew, a pupil at Auchmuty High in Glenrothes, Fife, said: "I am a great fan of J K Rowling and Harry Potter and I am sure he would approve of me selling the book to pay for my education."
The Odeon chain's advanced ticket sales for the new movie have already topped pounds 1million.
