Man released as hunt for Danielle goes on
ED HARRISA MAN arrested on suspicion of abducting missing schoolgirl Danielle Jones was released by police today as officers with sniffer dogs continued a search of scrub and marshland near her Tilbury home.
The police search, backed up with a helicopter equipped with heat- seeking cameras, has highlighted growing concern for the safety of the 15-year-old who has been missing since leaving for school last Monday. A girl matching her description was seen getting into a blue van on her route to school.
Stuart Campbell, 45, was bailed to return to a police station on 27 August. Speaking outside his home in Grays after his release, he said: "It's nothing to do with me.
It's all a big mistake."
Mr Campbell, who had been held for almost 60 hours, said he did not know why he had been arrested.
The team of 15 officers is carrying out a minute search of fields and ditches on a 20-acre site. Acting Chief Inspector Grahame Pinder said: "We have had information that we should look here - we have been given an indication that we might find something."
