Football: Sponsor bust-up
PAUL SMITHENGLAND'S top players, including captain David Beckham, are planning to snub the FA's key sponsors after a row over a pounds 5million share of commercial deals worth more than pounds 200m.
Agents who look after the interests of England players have thrashed out terms with the FA to take a slice of the projected pounds 250m income from their main sponsors over the next four years.
But the FA Board have refused to authorise the deal.
With the deal unsigned, England players could refuse to undertake promotion work for sponsors - which would infuriate the companies concerned.
